Levski multisport events for refugees!


Levski-Sport for All organized multisport events in the "Special home for temporary accommodation of foreigners - Sofia''. More than 100 foreigners participated in football, volleyball and badminton and special classes were held for the youngest inhabitants. 
The organizers also awarded numerous awards and gifts to the hosts and participants. The President of Levski-Sport For All, Lucien Veltchev and the General Secretary, Vanina Milanova donated sport equipment to the refugees that live in this refugee center. This initiative was also supported by the National Sport Association and the Direction of Migration of the Ministry of Interior.

''Sport as a tool for social inclusion''

Olympiacos organized an impressive event on Wednesday (26/9) and sent a double message for the social integration of refugees through sport and the encouragement of the participation in sport activities. Our club, which coordinates the ‘’You’re Hope’’ project and participates in the #BeActive action, had an active role in the European week of sport.

Statements after the ''You're Hope'' and ''#BeActive'' events

The UNESCO responsible for sport and educational issues, Mr. A.Glykas stated: 

‘’We watched an exceptional event of high standards that shows the greatness of Olympiacos and places it among the top clubs all over the world. We are proud to congratulate our Olympiacos Administration for these impressive actions that don’t take place anywhere else. I was delighted to see all these children of our Academies take part in this action and I was glad to see all these young refugees being enthusiastic about playing soccer, basketball, volleyball. As UNESCO, we are excited about Olympiacos amazing initiative and are eager to support similar actions.’’

Mrs. M. Pichou mentioned: 

‘’I am very happy to have participated in such an action with such an important message. I really enjoyed playing with the kids. I would like to thank the Olympiacos family, my favourite team, which invited me and welcomed me so warmly. I am glad that Olympiacos is present in such social actions and I also had the chance to learn more about sports. It was something that I wanted to do and I am very excited to do it through my favourite team.’’

The educator of the safe zone in Sxisto, Mrs. Eirini Topsi underpinned: 

‘’We would like to thank Olympiacos for the invitation and the opportunity that gave the children to get in touch with such a top club. The children participated in the amazing activities organized by the Olympiacos staff with great enthusiasm. It is a great honor for the organization to work with a successful club and we hope for future similar partnerships.’’

Olympacos spread the #BeActive message

Olympiacos participated in the European action ‘’#BeActive’’ as a part of the European Week of Sport (23-30 September) for the fourth consecutive year.
The club organized an impressive multisport event in the surrounding area of the Martial Arts at the Stadium ‘’G. Karaiskakis’’ with the participation of the Academies of Martial Arts, volleyball, athletics, table tennis, rowing and kayaking. A special mention should be made to the participation of the Academy of the football department which supported this initiative actively. 

Social inclusion through sport: Olympiacos multisport activities

The implementation of the main stage of the "You're Hope" project was carried out with great success at the sports facilities of the Martial Arts department.  Olympiacos organized a multisport event for young refugees in order to engage with sport and promote their social integration in the local community of Piraeus. The young refugees had the opportunity to practice a wide range of sports under the guidance of Olympiacos coaches while the attendees were informed about the action and its expected impact on society.

Olympiacos is ready to #BeActive

Olympiacos participates in the European Week of Sport and the action ‘’#BeActive’’ under the auspices of the European Commission and the General Secretary of Sport for the fourth consecutive year. 

Ready for the Opening of the 4th edition of the European Week Of Sport

Few days to go. After the success of the last years, the European Week Of Sport is ready for its 4th edition. The target is inspiring Europeans to get moving, making everyone aware of the importance of physical activity. The hashtag #BeActive is clearer than ever and next Saturday it will be raised up in Vienna.

Zagreb meeting: A discussion about You’re Hope next steps


EMCA members have just spent two days in Zagreb for their General Assembly and the Sport My Way final meeting. These events gave the chance to You’re Hope coordinator (Olympiacos) and partners (Levski - Sport For All and Aalborg) to have a meeting about the implementation of the project. 
The representatives of the clubs discussed about their preparation until now and the research related to the general situation of refugees in their local communities. Also, they planned the next steps of the project implementation and specifically, the organization of multisport events for refugees in Autumn 2018. Moreover, during the EMCA General Assembly, Olympiacos General Secretary, Christina Tsiligkiri presented an overview of the project and the actions that have taken place until now.

Kick-off meeting in Piraeus: A general review

The first meeting of You’re Hope was held with great success in Piraeus. Olympiacos prepared an exciting event for the start of the project and a range of social ones so as to please the partners for their contribution. The participants were very happy with the great hospitality and excellent work of Olympiacos related to the preparation of the project.

Press conference of ‘’You’re Hope’'

An excellent press conference organized by Olympiacos during the kick-off meeting of You’re Hope project. The participants had the opportunity to answer the questions of journalists and present the overall concept of the project. Olympiacos received very positive comments not only for its hospitality but also for the general contribution to the implementation of European projects.

UNESCO and You’re Hope join hands in promoting the social inclusion of refugees!

The meeting continued with a fruitful discussion of the partners about the European refugee crisis. In this part, the representatives of clubs had the chance to know more about the European countries approach to refugees and contract a beneficial cooperation with UNESCO.

The day has finally arrived: our clubs kicked off ‘’You’re Hope’’!

An amazing meeting took place for the official start of the ‘’You’re Hope’’ project in the headquarters of Olympiacos SFP yesterday. Christina Tsiligkiri, the General Secretary of Olympiacos and Project Coordinator, welcomed the representatives of the partners in Piraeus having a great discussion about the further development of the project.EMCA represented by the General Secretary, Federico Eichberg, Levski-Sport for all by the President, Lusien Velchev and the General Secretary, Vanina Milanova while Mette Andersen, the project leader of AaB participated via Skype.

Erasmus+ Sport Info Day in Brussels

The presence of the Olympiacos delegation in the Brussels meeting among the representatives of the European Multisport Club Association was completed with absolute success. The "red-white" mission headed by the Secretary General of our club, Christina Tsiligkiri, returned to Greece having achieved to ensure the leadership of the major European sports programmes, as all the proposals were accepted with enthusiasm by the other participants.

1st Day in Brussels

The annual General Assembly of the European Multisport club Association (EMCA) was held with great success in Brussels yesterday evening. The Olympiacos delegation impressed with its presence for another time.
The meeting started with the President of the Association Vanina Milanova and the General Secretary Federico Eichberg welcoming the participants and introducing the new members. Moreover, the participants reviewed the 6 programs that took place during 2017 and discussed some issues and questions that arose from them. A special reference was made to the 'You're Hope' project in which Olympiacos is leader with the General Secretary of our club and Project Coordinator, Christina Tsiligkiri, stating:

‘’You’re Hope’’ is officially starting!


Olympiacos continues to dominate in the European Erasmus+ sport programmes. Delegation of our club, headed by the General Secretary, Christina Tsiligkiri, will be present in the annual meeting of the European Multisport Clubs (EMCA) in Brussels.
The EMCA members will have the opportunity to discuss the running projects with Olympiacos participating in two of them, Sport My Way and You’re Hope which officially starts in the coming days and our club is going to be the leader.
The most important issue of the meeting is the discussion about future Erasmus programmes which will be implemented in 2019 and 2020. The partners will present their proposals with Olympiacos having prepared four ones. In a previous meeting, the representatives of our club introduced their proposals and all of them received positive comments by the other members.
‘’You’re Hope’’ is officially starting!         
As an active member of EMCA, Olympiacos participates in the European programme ‘’Erasmus+ Sport’’ for third consecutive year in cooperation with 17 European multisport clubs.
This year, our club is the leader of the project ‘’You’re Hope. The main aim of the project is the social inclusion of the refugees through sport in the local communities of the partners. It will take place in cooperation with Levski Sofia, AaB Af 1885 and International Organization for Migration (IOM) during 2018. The most important actions of the programme are the research about the most popular sport disciplines in the areas where most of the Migrants come from and the organization of multisport activities for refugees with the participation of the athletes, trainers and supporters. The first meeting will be held (5 and 6 February 2018) in Piraeus where the partners will discuss the final issues for the implementation of the project.

‘’You’re Hope’’ is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
This is a ‘’Small Collaborative Partnership’’ programme coordinated by Olympiacos SFP and with the involvement of Levski SC, Sport For all and Aalborg Boldspilklub, (AaB). All of these clubs have participated in a range of Erasmus+ Sport projects such as Sport & Support and Sport My Way.
