The project description

‘’You’re Hope’’ is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
This is a ‘’Small Collaborative Partnership’’ programme coordinated by Olympiacos SFP and with the involvement of Levski SC, Sport For all and Aalborg Boldspilklub, (AaB). All of these clubs have participated in a range of Erasmus+ Sport projects such as Sport & Support and Sport My Way.

The Refugee Crisis has been creating new issues related to the integration of those migrants fleeing from their native countries due to wars and persecutions. This Project aims to tackle these issues through sport activity, creating a new basis for integration and social inclusion. Since refugees are those people who escaped from their own countries, there is the risk – for them – to feel different from others and, so, neglected and excluded by the community. Sport, especially for children, can play a particularly important and healing role, helping to address health as well as social and developmental needs. Sport participation, and in particular organised sports, is an important socialising agent. As such, sports may be a viable vehicle for smoothing social and cultural barriers because they bring together individuals from different backgrounds. Given the multicultural character of contemporary societies, sport may have a significant integrative role for the promotion of social and cultural interaction.
The main objectives of the program are to increase refugees’ participation in practicing grassroots sport and as a result to contribute to their integration in the local communities. This will be made possible by special Multisport Days, where Clubs’ representatives, trainers and ambassadors will offer migrants, in particular kids, the opportunity to practice different sport activities and sport disciplines.
